ride-startRideStart is a non profit initiative organised and delivered in partnership with Bike2Bike motorcycle Training and West Berks Traffic & Road Safety Team

If you are aged 15 – 17 years and would like the opportunity to understand more about powered 2 wheelers, the dangers and responsibilities associated with ownership, experience and develop practical skills, get involved with maintenance and learn about the importance of protective gear, then this course is for you.

The all day course consists of four workshops:

  1. Practical Ride – Motorcycle training ‘off road’ incorporating all the basic riding skills.
  2. Road Safety and Law – Understanding attitude and behaviour to reduce your road risk. Also test your theory knowledge and understanding of the law
  3. Protective Gear and First Aid – Guidance on safety clothing and equipment. Also covering basic first aid knowledge and skills.
  4. Basic Mechanics – Learn simple maintenance to reduce your bike running costs and keep it roadworthy

 

The experience day is delivered at Bike2Bike Motorcycle Trainings Greenham centre. See www.bike2bikemotorcycletraining.co.uk/trainingcentres.htm. There is no previous knowledge or experience required as all of the equipment will be provided on the day.

 

After successful completion of the day, candidates will be entitled to a £25 voucher which can be used against any training course with Bike2Bike. There is a nominal Administration fee of £15 which is payable on booking. See www.ridestart.org. This fee funds the administration of the course by West Berks Traffic & Road Safety Team.
